Scale description - 0:00

Unlike my other stuff where I used the full set of tones per octave, this one uses an 11-note subset of 26edo, which means it fits onto a standard keyboard with one duplicate note. I saw that 26edo has really good approximations of the 11th and 7th harmonics so I came up with a scale symmetrically built around A that uses small chains of 11/8s (12 steps) and 8/7s (5 steps) to make a chromatic scale of 11 notes (steps 32232 23223 2). The scale is uneven with two different “half“ step sizes, but in context, both come across as half steps (one slightly squigglier than the other). There are some great harmonies to be had just from stacking 4ths and 7ths.
I wasn’t too pleased with how this tune ended up but I actually learned how to play the part myself so it’s getting uploaded whether it’s good or not. The audio is 95% me playing too slow and 5% adjustments to the MIDI velocity and timing. It’s loosely inspired by some of Scriabin
