Eden Leaves No. 17 Aka Prime Minister And Mr Anthony Eden Leave For The House (1938)

London. Brief shot of Ex Foreign Secretary (he resigned on 21 February) Anthony Eden leaving his house (Number 17), with two other men, unidentified by this cataloguer. Crowds of people cheer as Eden gets into his car and heads off towards the House of Commons. Commentator says “all the world waits to read the speeches in which Mr Eden explains the reasons for his resignation“. Note: there was probably a brief sequence at the start of this story showing Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain leaving Downing Street and heading to the House of Commons. This is currently missing.
