2,500 endangered seals found dead on Russia’s Caspian coast

For more: About 2,500 endangered seals have been found dead on the Caspian Sea coast in southern Russia. Caspian seals, the only mammals found in the Caspian Sea, have been classified as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature red list since 2008. Local authorities said it was unclear why the mass deaths happened, but that it was likely due to natural causes.
