Carassius Auratus

The scientific name of the goldfish, Carassius auratus, is not quite accurate, because the fish has no resemblance to any other goldfish. In fact, there are only two varieties of goldfish: the purple fin goldfish and the rainbow basal goldfish. The former is also called “land“ goldfish, while the latter is commonly known as the “betta“.
