Rallarvegen - Norway’s most beautiful ride? - Indoor Cycling Training
Rallarvegen is Norway’s most popular bike ride. It is regarded by many to be the most spectacular bike ride in Norway. The route follows the railway and is named after the construction workers building the railway. The total length is 82 km / 51 miles. This ride follows the most popular segment of Rallarvegen (Navvies road), which starts at the train station in the beautifully located town of Flåm. From here you move up the valley along the railway and the river. Along the way, there are many spectacular waterfalls and the scenery is simply jaw-dropping. Two-thirds into the ride, you cross a river and get to a very popular goat farm serving goat’s cheese and sausages. This is a good place to stop and enjoy the local food. If you have a good grip on your bike and strong legs, then you can continue up the notorious Myrdal turns. The Myrdal turns is a set of very steep hairpins. The average gradient of 17.4 percent is just one factor that makes this segment difficult. What is making this climb almost imposs
