champion, Yo-Sam Choi

Choi, former WBC light flyweight champion, collapsed after winning the fight on Dec 25, 2007. He underwent a brain surgery immediately but died on Jan 02, 2008. Choi donated his property, internal organs and cornea. South Koreans and boxing fans all over the world will mourn over the unexpected death of such a generous and great boxer. Choi’s notable fights include two wins over Saman Sorjaturong, losses to Arce, Parra and Bebis Mendoza. After the losses, he was almost retired from boxing. But he came back from inactivity in 2005. He then showed bigger heart, better conditioning and more-refined skill and won the WBO inter-continenetal flyweight championship. Choi planned to fight in the United States in 2008, challenging top fighters in the division. even though Choi was not in the same league of Arce’s, he was a busy-punching exciting fighter.
