Cocaine smugglers jump off boat during dramatic police chase in Suffolk

Two men have pleaded guilty to smuggling millions of pounds of cocaine into the UK after a police chase on the water near Benacre Broad in Suffolk. Border Force officers in a cutter pulled up alongside the men, who refused to stop. One man jumped off the boat whilst it was moving at high speed and when the boat hit shallow water the other man leapt off the side. The pair were both arrested and charged with drugs offences. It is believed they had used the vessel to go out to sea to collect drugs from a larger ship. They then hid an estimated £39 million pounds of cocaine in the hull of the boat.
