How Greenpeace Changed the World

This video look at the history of Greenpeace and how they change the world, Greenpeace history stares in 1971, activists motivated by their vision of a green and peaceful world, a small team set sail from Vancouver, in an old fishing boat. Their mission was to ‘bear witness’ to US nuclear testing at Amchitka, a tiny island off the West Coast of Alaska, these activists were the start of what became Greenpeace, they believed a few individuals could make a difference. Thought the old boat fishing boat, was intercepted before it got to Amchitka, the mission Greenpeace wanted to archive sparked public interest. The US still detonated the bomb, but Nuclear testing on Amchitka ended that same year, and the island was later declared a bird sanctuary. Greenpeace hasn’t stopped campaigning, one of Greenpeace main new focus is on climate change, with what they call a Climate Emergency.
