Agastya’s Battery | Vedic Era Technology | Mitra-Varuna Shakti

Agastya was a sage who lived around 4000 years ago. He wrote a book called Agastya Samhita. In this book some shlokas tell us about electric batteries, electrolysis of water, aerodynamics etc. Translation- Place a well-cleaned copper plate in an earthen pot. Layer it first by copper sulphate and then by moist sawdust. After that, put a mercury-amalgamated zinc sheet on top of the sawdust to avoid polarization. The contact will produce an energy known as Mitra-Varuna*Shakti. *Mitra- anode, Varuna- cathode.
