Two Italian designers work on designs at a drawing board. Signs in their factory are in Italian - “the town has become a little corner of Italy“ states the narrator “without the sun of course. Various shots of women working at knitting machines and the two men studying cones of wool.
The factory is run by a family from Monterosa who were brought to Britain by a far-sighted Englishman named Edward Jones. Commentary suggests that everyone who works here is Italian. M/S of a woman called Mrs Tebe Tombari who acts as “mother, cook and chief bottle washer“ for the contingent of Italian girls who have come to work here.
Fashion parade takes place in a “salon“. A couple of elderly ladies watch the display. Full length wool coats, suits and dresses are modelled as well as sweaters and cardigans. Lots of lovely stuff. A male model is s
