Tennis Fashions (1950)

Chiswick, London. Various shots of a fashion show of tennis dresses designed by Colonel Teddy Tinling at the Chiswick Lawn Tennis Club. Teddy adjusts girl’s dresses before they leave the dressing room. A small audience watches as girls parade in great tennis outfits with names like ’Whispering Grass’, ’Sunny Day’, ’Blue Skies’ and ’Intrigue’. Most of the outfits feature cotton or chiffon coats worn over tennis dresses or tops and skirts. Some of the skirts are transparent with printed shorts worn beneath. Tennis shoes with frilled or beflowered socks. Good shots towards the end of the story show girls lifting up their transparent skirts to show their shorts beneath.
