Impaired driver crashes stolen truck in Boston before fleeing scene

A “reckless” man crashed a stolen truck into the back of a vehicle while under the influence, police in the Boston metro area said, releasing dashcam footage of the incident on February 7. The video shows the man driving the truck at nearly 80 mph down a roadway in Bellingham, Massachusetts, on January 14. At one point he can be seen taking both hands off the wheel. He then manages to evade three vehicles before colliding with a fourth at over 70 mph. Police said the 23-year-old fled the scene following the collision. Police later discovered the truck had been reported stolen. The man was arrested in Rhode Island, confessing to police that he had been under the influence of an illegal substance while driving the truck.
