Melikov’s House in Baku

𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗔𝗜𝗝𝗔𝗡 RESIDENCE OF THE MELIKOV FAMILY IN BAKU The building was built in 1893-1897 and was designed by the Polish architect Józef Gosławski. The mansion was built by the order of the Melikov family, who were wealthy industrialists. This three-storey residential building was the first Gothic-style building in Baku. It was also Józef Gosławski’s first project on personal order. Gosławski reportedly modelled the facades of the residence after Florentine palaces.
