Melikov’s House in Baku

𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗔𝗜𝗝𝗔𝗡 RESIDENCE OF THE MELIKOV FAMILY IN BAKU The building was built in 1893-1897 and was designed by the Polish architect Józef Gosławski. The mansion was built by the order of the Melikov family, who were wealthy industrialists. This three-storey residential building was the first Gothic-style building in Baku. It was also Józef Gosławski’s first project on personal order. Gosławski reportedly modelled the facades of the residence after Florentine palaces. The individual form of the project is formed in the context of the classical style of Baku. The facades are covered with stones.
