Countries ranked by minimum wage

Below is a table of the countries of the world by the level of the minimum wage (SMIC) by year. The source of the given data is the state statistical bodies of the indicated countries and Wikipedia. The table below shows only those countries where the minimum wage is clearly fixed by law. The average values for wages in US dollars are given, based on 160 working hours per month. Given that the dollar exchange rate in each of the countries changes regularly, the data in the table, when converted into local currency, may differ slightly (by the amount of exchange rate change against the dollar). The stated minimum wage refers to the gross amount, that is, before taxes and social security contributions, which vary from one country to another. Also excluded from the calculation are regulated paid days off, including public holidays, sickness benefits, annual leave and social security contributions paid by the employer. Some countries may have very complex minimum wage systems; for example, India has over 1,202 minimum wages. In some countries, even rich ones, such as Austria, Sweden, Italy, Finland or Norway, the minimum payment threshold is not officially set, so they are not in the ranking. In Switzerland, the minimum wage is set in each canton (region), in the table below, a specific canton (Neuchâtel) was given as an example. The latest version of this table displays the minimum wage by country in the world as of 2022. The data is updated regularly.
