Ignace Strasfogel was a Polish composer and conductor who studied in the legendary class of Franz Schreker in Berlin. At the beginning of the 1940s, he met Andrés Segovia, and friendly contact was established. The three-movement work: Prelude, Elegie and Rondo is dedicated to the Spanish master. There are two manuscripts and a printed edition.
Strasfogel described the second movement as romantic.
