The Caraboot (1964)

Chorley, Lancashire. Brief high angle shot of traffic moving along an urban road. We cut to the Caraboot, a mini with a caravan attached to the rear and a boat on the roof, driving along a country road. The vehicle stops in a field; the caravan is released from the car by a kind of unwinding mechanism; two women go inside and start preparing food. The car and boat are driven down to the river by the men, leaving an open space at the end of the caravan! The men launch the rowing boat and go fishing / angling until they are called back to the caravan by the women for a nice cup of tea and some chocolate biscuits. It looks rather cramped, but apparently sleeps four. Note: on file are several pieces of press info on the Caraboot and a letter from Euxton Coachcraft Ltd who manufactured the vehicle.
