Porchester Castle Ruins AKA Portchester Sic Castle (1960)

L/S of Porchester Castle near Portsmouth, Hampshire; a horse ambles across a field in front of the moat. M/S of a family of three crossing a bridge over the moat while the commentator says this is “a remarkable example of a Norman castle inside a Roman one“. M/S of the family walking through a covered gate into the castle, built at the end of the 3rd Century AD, now in ruins and with a grass covered floor; tilt up to show the tower. M/S on top of the tower as a couple in matching Aran-style cardigans look out over the wall towards Portsmouth Harbour. High angle L/S of a cricket pitch outside the castle wall, tilt down to show the courtyard below. High angle L/Ss of the other sections of the castle; L/S of a cricket match being played on the pitch next to the castle. Commentator talks of the history of the castle and mentions “A century and a half ago the
