RARE!!! GLENN GOULD in ISRAEL (1958) - Mozart Sonata K. 330

The Mozart Sonata K. 330 was a particular favourite of Glenn Gould during the period of the late 1950’s. Along with this live recording from Israel in 1958, there is the Columbia LP version from 1958 as well as a live version at the Salzburg Festival in 1959. Although nowhere near the speed of his 2nd commercial recording for CBS in 1970, this version from Israel clocks in at a couple of minutes faster than the other 2 versions from the same time period. Source Material - This was taken from a cassette copy given to Toronto collector Doug Lloyd from one of his fellow collectors in the U.S. The exact date and location of this solo recital in Israel is not known. Doug Lloyd was a Toronto high school teacher and former student of Alberto Guerrero (Glenn Gould’s teacher). Doug was a real “Piano Man“ and taped more than 2 thousand radio broadcasts on to open reel and cassette. In the beginning of the video, you will see a poster advertising a c
