C-Axis on a Hobby Lathe with Acorn DIY CNC Part 01

Since my lathe is with 6-speed gearbox and some backlash, I could not use the spindle servo for C-Axis drive. So I decided to use a second servo with a clutch which drives the spindle directly. Still waiting for the clutch from Mayr, but could do some testing with a coupling instead of the clutch. For me the C-Axis works with ok precision and acceptable speed. Quite easy to implement in Acorn Lathe CNC, as it is to make parts with this CNC fast without the need for a CAM system. Everything needed was made from pencil sketches on an mill and lathe with Acorn CNC in minutes using the Intercon dialogue interface. Next part after I got the clutch will be to show how fast this thing switches from spindle to C-Axis mode ;-)
