Intel Altera use Quartus To Change Project Name Design Files Names and Revision using Copy Project

If you develop FPGA or older PLDs using Altera Quartus (now managed by Intel), many projects start from a similar logic design. You can Create a new project, migrate a design, Baseline an existing project, or change Revision of a Project using tools in Quartus. Unfortunately this is not a simple process, and there are several steps that must be followed in a specific order to create a new Project, or change a Project revision, without losing Pin-outs of the design. There may be a simpler way, but this is our tried and true procedure without breaking the design when copied. We need to test this on newer versions of Quartus (i.e Version 18 or 20) to verify it still works this way. We hope you find this helpful!
