Gateway Classic Cars of Las Vegas is pleased to present for consideration a 1970 Opel Gt Coupe in Metallic Orange with Black Vinyl interior. The first generation of the Opel Gt was introduced in 1968 and produced through 1973. Initially it was offered in a 1.1 L engine but most buyers chose the version with the camshaft in the head configuration that produced 102hp @ 5200 -5400 rpm. The standard transmission was a 4 speed with a three speed automatic available as an option. The styling cues of the Opel GT were always compared to the similar 1968 Corvette in design. It was built on a steel unibody platform with a front mid-engine design rear wheel drive setup for better weight distribution. Front suspension was A arms with transverse leaf spring design with a live axle and coil springs in the rear. Stopping power was handled by power assisted front discs and drums in the rear.
