Holy Hellgrammites!

Hellgrammites are the aquatic larvae of the terrifying Dobsonfly, but Hellgrammites themselves are also generally regarded with a certain sense of terror. They posses powerful mandibles and know how to use them. In some areas they are commonly known as toe biters. I found these on land under wood so if I’m very lucky that means they will soon pupate into their adult form. If I’m extremely lucky I’ll catch that process on video and we all get to watch!
