The Eurasian penduline tits (Remiz pendulinus) construct elaborate pear-shaped nests. These nests are woven from spiderweb, wool and animal hair and various plant materials, which are hanging from twigs and branches in trees. These are among the most typical bird nests that a lot of people have at least heard of. The nest can mostly be found near water, often hanging right above the water surface. Sadly, the penduline tits are becoming a rare bird species in Central Europe.
