Cookies for Father’s Day

This is one of two cookie designs that I made for Father’s Day this year. These tiny tools are made entirely out of royal icing. Here is my color palette. For this project I used both Wilton and Americolor gel pastes. The red is Americolor tulip red. I added a little black to it in order to make it less bright. And, as usual, I added a touch of green to the Wilton brown in order to neutralize yellow is a mixture of Wilton lemon yellow and golden yellow. Most of the components of this cookie were piped using flood consistency royal icing except for the rope and the chain, which were piped using stiff consistency icing. Before you begin this project, you’ll need to know how to make wood grain icing. Learn how to make tiny royal icing tools on a wood grain iced cookie.
