Tina Keeper on adapting ‘Through Black Spruce’ for the screen

Cree producer and actor Tina Keeper says she decided to adapt the novel “Through Black Spruce” into a film because the Indigenous-focused story “resonated” with her. The movie premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. (Sept. 13, 2018)
