Bikepacking Mt. Hood National Forest: Camping at Trillium Lake

In mid-September, I traveled out to Welches, Oregon with my friends Brett and Heidi to cycle through part of Mt. Hood National Forest and camp overnight at Trillium Lake. We met up with our friend John and set off on mostly gravel roads. John rode with us up to Trillium Lake before heading back to Welches—chasing the sunset–while we set up camp. After getting everything in order, we rode up to Government Camp for dinner and drinks at Charlie’s Mountain View restaurant; getting caught out by some rain, which led to a very wet ride back to camp. Overall, it was a fun overnight bikepacking trip that I highly recommend for beginners or anyone who wants to have a nice relaxing couple of days—you can easily extend this to a two-night trip with a little planning. *ROUTE* (Excludes the trip to Government Camp and back) *CYCLING GEAR* Bike: 2021 Giant Revolt 3 Wheelset: Roval Terra C Tires: Pirelli Cinturato M 45mm 700c () Saddle: ERGON SR Allroad Core Pro () Bags: Restrap: top tube, frame, snack, saddle, and handlebar), Cages:Topeak Versacages w/ misc. dry bags () Cockpit: Redshift suspension stem, PRO Discover Gravel Handlebars Drivetrain: Shimano GRX 10sp 46/30 – 11/42 Computer: GARMIN Edge 840 () Hydration: Camelbak Chase () *CAMPING GEAR* Cookware: Soto Windmaster Stone () Snowpeak Titanium Pot Mug () Sleep System: Therm-a-Rest NeoAir () Sierra Designs Cloud 20 Quilt Bag () Tent: Lanshan 2 Ultralight () Chair: NEMO Moonlite Elite () *CAMERA* GoPro Hero 12 () _(The URLs provided are affiliate links that allow me to earn from qualifying purchases)_ *PHOTO/VIDEO/DRONE WORK*
