“Hív az antifasiszta akció“ (Anti-Fascist Action is Calling) is a Hungarian communist and anti-fascist song from the 1967 record “Fáklyavivők 5 - Dalok, Hősök, Emlékek 1920-1939“ by the state record company “Hungaraton.“ Written by Arma Pál sometime between 1920 and 1939. The recording had a little bit more audio on it, just someone talking about the song. Anti-Fascist Action was a militant anti-fascist group formed by the KPD during the final year of the Weimar Republic as an attempt to stop the spread of fascism and naziism in Germany. During this period in the Weimar Republic, political violence was very high as Nazi militias, Communist militias, and even some liberal militias all fought for their aims. ANTIFA was formed to fight against the Nazi brownshirt and SA militias, and the cause of ANTIFA spread far and wide outside of Germany, especially in neighbouring central European countries like Hungary. Many groups today consider themselves to be forms of Antifa, though the KPD specifically defined ANTIFA as a “red united front under the leadership of the only anti-fascist party, the KPD,“ which excludes a lot of modern “ANTIFA“ groups, which are not Marxist-Leninist.
