CARDBOARD COFFINS - Your Darkest Thoughts and Insecurities - Moons In Retrograde

Hello Fellow Weirdos! This song is about a journey of trying to fit into boxes... stuffing one’s self into shapes that don’t fit, feeling distorted, feeling rejected when questioning the status Society to community to subculture to personal relationships. The song is about a longing to belong and to feel ultimately choosing authenticity over conformity. On the surface the song feels as if it is about unrequited love or a broken heart or not feeling enough for someone to love under that surface layer is much more. The Cardboard Coffins represent the many boxes or categories which people fall into in order to feel socially accepted. From larger societal groups to subcultures to communities and to one on one relationships. There is this feeling of having to fit into these boxes in order to be understood, to be be loved. But what if you don’t really fit into any of them? A person who lives their life completely dances only to the beat of their own end up living a very lonely life if they cannot find their “tribe“. Spotify: Other Music Links: BIG Thanks to Etienne Pelosoff Studio for amazing co-production, mixing and mastering of this song.
