The sun rises, the sun sets. Things begin, and then they end. There is life and there is loss. While nature demonstrates recognizable patterns, the natural order can be upended in a moment. No matter the course of the day, however, the sun simply sets again and the next morning it rises to continue sustaining life on earth. Likewise, exposure to the light and warmth of a community of care in the harsh realities of lived experience can also have a sustaining effect. It is in a community like this we can heal, grow, find support, and acquire strength. We can also unwind and experience great enjoyment. While travelling, I happened upon a public community celebration and was mesmerized by the life bursting forth by all in attendance. I was compelled to capture and include these inspiring scenes to place a spotlight on the joy beaming from this beautiful moment of togetherness.
