In this video I use my Ferree’s P60 “Tuba Rotary Valve Swaging Tool“ to tighten the bearings on a very old, worn out rotary valve.
I used this valve as my guinea pig because I already swaged all my other 14 or 15 old, worn out rotors, bragged about it online, and was met with over a dozen requests to show or demo the tool. Several requested this be a video specifically because I type too much information and these people are not native English speakers/readers/writers. In the interest of clarity I videoed the entire process and talked even more than I type. (Sorry, guys...)
The rotor is an old B&S or Cerveny .750“ with terrible silver plating, boogered up top and bottom bearings plates and ridiculously worn bearings that cause the thing to clank like a chuck wagon going over broken country.
The tool fixed the bearings, making this like a new valve because the overall compression is still good. I removed the excess solder, then sanded and buffed the casing exterior and then gave it a light going over with
