The Lama was specifically designed for high-altitude operations, particularly in the Himalayan region. It is known for its ability to operate effectively at extremely high altitudes, where other helicopters may struggle due to reduced air density. The Lama is capable of flying at altitudes exceeding 20,000 feet (6,100 meters). It achieved this capability through modifications to the engine and rotor system.
