LEGO Wind-Powered Strandbeests

I brought 2 of my LEGO strandbeests to the beach. They work great in the wind and had no issues with getting stuck in the sand. I modified them to work smooth enough to be powered off the wind, no batteries or motors power the strandbeests. The joints and crankshafts were a little rough afterwards from sand and salt water, but I believe this is unavoidable. I plan for Generation 2 to be able to catch wind from any direction, perhaps a wind vane will be mounted on the strandbeests in the future. I hope to create better strandbeests next time, and will show the “evolution“ progress in future videos. If you would like separate videos showcasing these strandbeests, let me know in the comments. The large strandbeest is my own creation, interpreted into LEGO from the original creatures by Theo Jansen. The leg mechanism is not perfect but given the whole numbers increments in LEGO and size constraints, I am satisfied for now. The small strandbeest is inspired by the following video:
