Maoming is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong Province. It is located on the coast of the South China Sea, in the southwest of Guangdong Province, with the great southwest of the motherland at its back. It has jurisdiction over Maonan District and Dianbai District, and is in charge of Gaocheng City, Huazhou City and Xinyi City. It has three economic functional zones: Maoming Binhai New Area, Maoming High-tech Zone and Maoming Shuidongwan New City. The total land area of the city’s administrative area is 11, square kilometres. According to the data of the seventh census, the resident population of Maoming was 6,174,050 as of 00:00 on 1 November 2020.
