I don’t know why the Woodcock crossed the road, but they sure do it with panache!
The song “Limbo Rock“ immediately popped into my head as I watched these adorable birds dance across the road. This instrumental version was first recorded by The Champs in 1961. When I was a kid, I loved the vocal version recorded in 1962 by Chubby Checker. Enjoy!
Researchers aren’t sure why woodcocks bob this way, but some believe that it may help them hunt by disturbing earthworms.
