“A love letter to Dunk: Bird’s Robe at Dunk Festival 2023 mini documentary“ Today we’re very proud to share with you our mini documentary filmed at Dunk Festival 2023. This year’s festival was a very special event for us for many reasons: 5 Australian bands playing on the same day, including 3 of them making their European debut, as well as the return of We Lost The Sea for the first time in 6 years and Solkyri returning after 8 years. Not to mention all of the extended family on this incredible lineup performing in Dunk Festival’s brand new venue in Gent, Belgium. Dunk and Bird’s Robe go all the way back to 2012 when sleepmakeswaves became the first Australian band to play at the event. Since then, Dunk have provided a platform for so many Australian artists to help fulfil their dreams of playing overseas to a passionate and enthusiastic audience. We have followed their progression from their early days, from growing into a respected festival in Europe, to a record label and a popular pressing plant producing high quality products. We’re proud to have partnered with them on many of our releases and vinyl projects over the past decade. The whole Dunk team across the festival, record label and pressing plant are very dear to us and after such difficult times these past few years, it’s important to us that they are still here, better than ever. We felt it would be nice to show everyone around the world a little bit of what makes Dunk so special. This is our love letter to Dunk, a mini documentary from the amazing Dunk Festival 2023. Thanks to all of the artists, fans and crew who made this possible. Thanks in particular to James O’Connor of From The Pit, who journeyed all the way from Australia to put this footage together, and to Sim from SEIMS and Andrew from Solkyri, who became our post-rock whisperers for this project.
