Slick Drill (1930)

Filmed at Pengwern (?) College in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Introductory intertitle reads: “Trained to the second, a smart young company, moving as one person.“ High angle shot of girls exercising in a school yard. They wear gymslips and exercise in unison. A group of the girls exercise with hula hoops, skipping ropes and juggling balls. One girl juggles whilst skipping rope - two girls turn the rope for her. Intertitle reads: “Budding Cinquevallis“ - the girls hold plates in the air then lower them on their heads. They then place a ball or an apple on the plate, lower their arms then kneel down - an exercise of poise and balance. They then juggle, stand up again and take the plates off their heads. Quite cute and funny. The girls then stand in lines which form a star. They walk forwards and the star rotates. They then run towards the camera waving their hands in the air.
