Cordes-sur-Ciel, France in 4K (UHD)

#Cordes-sur-Ciel is a picturesque bastide town located near Albi. Founded in 1222 by the Count of Toulouse Raymond VII, it became the first walled city in southwestern #France, designed to shelter and protect the inhabitants during the Albigensian Crusade, organized by the Pope to fight the heresy of the Cathars. XIII-XIV centuries can be called the golden times of Cordes-sur-Ciel. The city managed to avoid ruin from wars, which is why its medieval appearance has been perfectly preserved. Every year in July, for two days, a medieval festival takes place in the city, taking you back to that distant era. Recorded August 2019.
