The Future Danger of Several Mile Explosion Craters Forming in Yellowstone

Looking around Yellowstone there are a group of several thousand to several mile wide explosion craters which formed in explosions equivalent in energy to a several hundred kiloton blast of TNT. Known as hydrothermal craters, 16 of these formed in the last 14,000 years. Until recently, the trigger of these explosions remained a mystery. However, a recent paper by L. Morgan and others has found a strong link between strong magnitude earthquakes within Yellowstone Lake and powerful explosions. This video will discuss this link, and the future implications it has on the National Park.
