Kathleen Shaw - 1927 The Ice Club, Westminster - Exhibition

At one time, The Ice Club in Westminster was London’s premier skating venue for the upper classes and the sports biggest stars. It was host to the 1928 World Ladies Championship, the 1929 World Men’s Championship and the 1933 European Championships. It is also where Kathleen Shaw won the inaugural British ladies title in late 1927. Here we see a snippet of Kathleen looking as glamorous as could be giving an exhibition, thought to be in January 1927, possibly to commemorate the opening of The Ice Club that month. Shaw was a three-time British Champion, twice an Olympian and the 1926 World bronze medallist.
