Huntington’s Maggot - English Country Dance (1721)

This is the English country dance “Huntington’s Maggot.“ Playford, 1721. Bernard J. Bentley, Fallibroome Collection 4, 1977. Recording is by Stradivarious, from This Sceptred Isle (2014). This dance is on the program of the 2022 Playford-to-the-Present Ball held by Culver City English Country Dance on October 8, 2022. There are a few other videos of this dance available online and they’re lovely, danced by performance groups. I wanted to get a video of “regular“ social dancers doing this dance. Please excuse any mistakes. :) Note: I made a mistake in the teaching in A2 5-8: Second corners should turn Right-hand (not Left-hand).
