With the Russo-Ukrainian war about to enter its third year, much of the wider conflict has ground down to long-range strikes and skirmishes, with the manpower and armour required to carry large scale offensives currently depleted. Ukraine is still attempting to recapture its lost territory but has made only marginal gains. Instead, it has ramped up drone and missile strikes on Russia itself, with much of this forward strategy occurring near the city of Belgorod, which is just a 2 hour drive from Kharkiv.
