The Cowbell/Bongo Bell (la campana) is one of the key percussion instruments in Salsa music as well as various other music genres. The basic rhythm has heavy accents on the 1, 3, 5 and 7 which can help salsa dancers find the beat and dance on time more effectively. The Cowbell/Bongo Bell is played by the bongo player (bongocero) and is often played during the chorus or mambo section of the piece.
This video is designed to help Salsa dancers develop their timing and understanding of the instruments, and how it relates to some of the basic steps in Salsa.
