Scottish Broadsword HEMA (Angelo, 1799)

The Michigan Medieval Combat Association presents interpretations of the illustrations from the famous 1799 Angelo poster for the “dismounted troops of the London and Westminster Light Horse Volunteers“. MMCA scholars of varying skill levels, ages, genders and body types, demonstrating some basic movements out of the eight guard postures depicted in the poster, as well as the two leg-shifting techniques. Thank you to the Academy of Historical Fencing for generously providing the world with a very large amount of free content: It’s worth mentioning that this was filmed on loose gravel, on a very cold autumn evening lol.
