Spaghettification | for percussion quartet (2023)

Spaghettification composed by Sam Parnin Program note: Spaghettification details a process of approaching a black hole, where the extreme gravitational forces act unevenly on an object. This causes the object to be squashed and stretched until it becomes a long strand of matter, similar to that of spaghetti. In this percussion quartet, rhythmic fluctuations mimic the gravitational phenomenon, as the rhythms are gradually transformed from groupings of twos and threes into threes and fours.
