“Te Ipermaho“ (Greek: “Τῇ ὑπερμάχῳ“), is a Atakhist Hymn sung in the Greek Orthodox and Greek Catholic Churches especially during the Lenten Season. It was written around the aftermath of the First Siege of Constantinople in 674 where the Arab invaders have been successfully repelled. The successes of the Byzantine Empire was then attributed to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known in the Greek Church as the “Theotokos“ (“God-bearer“), of which the entire song is dedicated to.

ὡς λυτρωθεῖσα τῶν δεινῶν εὐχαριστήρια,
ἀναγράφω σοι ἡ Πόλις σου Θεοτόκε.
Ἀλλ’ ὡς ἔχουσα τὸ κράτος ἀπροσμάχητον,
ἐκ παντοίων με κινδύνων ἐλευθέρωσον,
