I think I took these pictures in 1984 but for sure no later than 1986. The first picture is looking across the main runway when I was searching for Jetcopters hoping to see Airwolf. Then I had to make my way around the airport to find Waterman Drive. The next picture is the rear of that same building. Though I don’t think it’s visible in the photo, I could see Airwolf inside that hangar. I parked and went in through a glass door into the lobby and asked a lady at the desk if there was any way I could take some pictures of Airwolf. She said I could and led my wife and me to a door into the hangar. To my amazement, she turned around and went back into the office.
I would have guessed from the tv show that Airwolf was black and white. I was really surprised to see that it was a dark metallic gray on top with very light gray bottom. The interior was pure utility helicopter... no fancy Airwolf stuff.
Next is the Sikorsky S76 that was used as HX1 in an episode. A beautiful machine that was much bigger than the Bell 222 Airwolf. It looked like an executive transport inside with red velvet looking captions chairs and a round table in the passenger area.
And of course the Santini Air. Nothing special about it. The blue paint almost looked like it was sprayed on with an aerosol can.
The last picture was the next building and almost looked like a bunch of spare parts.
