Vyasa Teertha Swamy

Vyasatirtha was born in 1460 at Bannur in the Mysore District in what is now the modern Karnataka state. His father’s name was Rallanna Sumati and his mother was Kasyapa. Vyasatirtha’s parents had three children, a girl and two boys. Before Vyasatirtha’s birth, his father promised his second son as a disciple to Brahmanya Tirtha.
