’Faceplant’: Ice skater crashes through thin ice of frozen Amsterdam Canal A daredevil pleased a crowd of onlookers in Amsterdam on February 14, by skating, in just a pair of shorts, directly over some thin ice on one of the city’s canals. The ice promptly cracked, sending the skater plunging into the frigid water. The man is heard joking as he resurfaces from his stunt. He’s then pulled back onto thicker ice by another man holding a rope.
