「ロックマンX8」Rockman X8 Playthrough (JAP) — Part 6, Central White - Ice-Snow Yetinger

Forgot that I already have a bunch of videos uploaded to my channel, but not published. Woops. Don’t worry, I’ll fix this faster than Flashman could use Flash Stopper... I hope. Central White is the second Ride Chaser stage in this game and I absolutely love it. I used to grind for Metals on it a lot back when I first wanted to record the story of japanese X8 on my channel. It’s a fast-pased stage with lots of enemies riding towards you in order to stop you. Hunters here actually have some differences while in their Ride Chasers: X can charge the shots, Zero has the shots of a wider range and Axl can repeateadly and quickly shot small bullets. I’d recommend you use X and Zero here since Axl isn’t all that useful in the two mid-bosses this stage has, however you can use Axl\Zero combination. You just need to have Zero on your team because his projectiles cover a lot of the ground. That mantaray thing is probably one of the hardest mid-bosses this game has to offer, but that statement is only true to the second encounter. You have to maneuver between the shots and MAME-Q with bombs it launches but I never maneged to beat this thing without getting hit. There’s also one shortcut on this stage I always use, but you’ll need to be careful as I personally smashed 4 or so Ride Chasers before this attempt (which is an insta-death no matter what. That’s the life, folks). And that cave still lags even when I disabled the music. When the Ride Chaser segment is over, there’re two collectables to get. First requires Optic Sunfloward’s weapons (Can’t remember if any of them will work, but I always do this with Zero’s Tenshouha) so you can melt the ice blocks (can’t remember if Burn Kokekokker’s weapons melt the ice. If they don’t, what the heck) and the second one requires a character that can clear a large gap. Raikoujin works fine for that. And sorry for making you watch that painful footage of me trying to get up to the collectables. At least it’s not as bad as my attampt at getting up the Sigma Fortress in X1 after Zero’s death. You probably didn’t notice this, but I have just noticed it myself. I was using the wrong Confrontation music for dialogues with Irregulars. The one I was using for everything is for Sigma actually. Well, alright, they still sound really similar so it’s still OK?.. Since I’ve already beaten more than 4 Irregulars, literally everyone starts to call Axl “a prototype of the New Generation“ and openly ask him to join their side before it’s too late. But gingerhead doesn’t listen to Irregulars so he doesn’t understand them and just doesn’t really care much. He sure will start to care when the story will be nearing its end. Also they talk a lot about their “New Ideal World“ and how the old world should be put at rest when X confronts them, and how Zero could still be useful to the New World if he didn’t decide to stay with “old models“ when Zero confronts them. Ice-Snow Yetinger (What a wierd name... Let me guess, Avalanche is hard to pronounce for japanese people or something?) isn’t that hard until he starts to burry himself under the snow to then Hyouryuushou your butt from the underneath, and before he starts his Overdrive. You can try to hit Yetinger with X’s Thunder Dancer or Zero’s Raikoujin, but the timing needs to be really precise or else you probably gonna get hit. Plus, as you can see for yourself, Raikoujin lags the emulator for me, that’s no good either, at least in this fight. Axl is good at stunlocking him with Plasma Gun as he can aim his weapons, however you can climb the wall and quickly dash of it to dodge that boss’ attack. Yetinger’s Overdrive is dangerous because it spawns huge snowflackes that will slowly fall and damage you if you touch them, but you can destroy them (end even damage the boss if you’re lucky) if you’ll use Thunder Dance on them! What an interesting scene... Layer and X have their moment. X explains how Zero was used and how that’s the reason he would not let any Irregulars, especially Sigma, to roam around. For some reason, scenes that feature Layer as one of the main characters are one of my favorites and one of the most memorable moments of this game. Even if I don’t like Layer as much anymore. Probably because they kinda feel similar to Axl and Zero scenes in X7 that by the time of 3rd scene started to have a similar “personal talk“ asthetic and atmosphere? Maybe. Eh... How much I want to see the X cast really interract more often, especially now...
