#MyFilmStory - Lucy Ridges - Between Truth & Illusion

We are proud to share the 7th video on our #MyFilmStory series. This time we meet Lucy Ridges, a visual artist working primarily with analogue photography and alternative processes such as hand colouring, cyanotype, and photopolymer gravure. Shooting with a variety of film cameras including her Mamiya RB67 and Nikonos V loaded with ILFORD black and white medium format and 35mm film, Lucy works with the nude female form to create beautiful, strange and other worldly prints. Exploring double exposures and surrealism to create images with mood and texture that are somewhere between truth and illusion. In this video we get an insight into Lucy’s thoughts and creative process as we join her on her shoots both in the studio, and underwater and then, into the darkroom where she makes her prints. 02:25 Water and Glass 03:10 Lucy shoots her Mamiya RB67 loaded with ILFORD FP4 PLUS in the studio. 06:55 In the darkroom. 08:35 Underwater photography shoot with the Nikonos V loaded
